BJP Condemns Youth Congress Protest at Global AI Summit, Alleges Rahul Gandhi's Involvement
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) launched a fierce condemnation on Friday against the Youth Congress for what it described as a "dramatic and disgraceful" protest at the prestigious global AI impact summit. Senior BJP leaders, including Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, accused the Congress party of orchestrating a protest that deliberately sought to undermine India's rising global stature at a time when the nation is being widely recognized for its technological and economic progress.
Allegations of Planning at Gandhi Residence
BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra made explosive claims during a press conference, stating that the entire protest was meticulously planned at the residence of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi. "For Congress, I have just three words: topless, brainless and shameless," Patra declared. He alleged that the planning session involved not only Rahul Gandhi but also Sonia Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, framing it as a calculated political move rather than a spontaneous demonstration.
"It was not an experiment," Patra emphasized, suggesting a premeditated strategy to disrupt the high-profile event, which has attracted world leaders and prominent figures from the technology industry.
Strong Reactions from BJP Leadership
Union Minister Piyush Goyal expressed his outrage on social media, directly targeting Rahul Gandhi. "So, Rahul Gandhi, humiliating India to target the government is your idea of opposition! While you want to choke India's development by peddling lies about recent trade deals, your foot soldiers are marching shirtless at the prestigious AI summit, attempting to embarrass 140 crore Indians globally," Goyal stated.
Another Union Minister, Dharmendra Pradhan, accused the Congress of prioritizing vested political and family interests over national interests. He asserted that the party's politics has now been reduced to mere disruption and embarrassment, lacking any constructive agenda.
Defence Minister's Warning on National Image
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh issued a stern warning about the potential consequences of such protests. He argued that partisan disruptions of this nature serve no national purpose and risk tarnishing India's hard-earned global reputation. "Such partisan disruptions serve no national purpose, and political differences must never come at the cost of the country's honour," Singh emphasized, highlighting the importance of maintaining dignity on international platforms.
BJP chief spokesperson Anil Baluni echoed these sentiments, accusing the Congress under Rahul Gandhi's leadership of increasingly positioning itself as "anti-national and anti-development," thereby becoming a "disgrace" for the nation.
Support from BJP Allies
The condemnation extended beyond the BJP to its political allies. JD(U) working president Sanjay Jha described the protest as a reflection of Congress's desperation. "Such theatrics may seek attention, but they only expose the intellectual bankruptcy of those who mistake disruption for dissent. These reckless attempts to belittle Bharat on an international platform will not derail our nation's progress," Jha stated, reinforcing the view that the protest was an ill-conceived attempt to gain political mileage.
The protest occurred at the venue of the AI summit, a key event drawing global attention to India's advancements in artificial intelligence and technology. The BJP's unified response underscores the party's commitment to portraying itself as a guardian of national pride and development, while painting the Congress as a disruptive force willing to sacrifice the country's image for political gains.
