BJP's Ashoka accuses Karnataka govt of 'looting' through schemes, demands probe
BJP's Ashoka accuses Karnataka govt of 'looting' citizens

BJP leader R. Ashoka on Wednesday accused the Karnataka Congress government of using its flagship guarantee scheme to 'loot' citizens, alleging that the programme had become a vehicle for 'institutionalised corruption.' He demanded an independent probe into the matter.

Allegations of corruption in guarantee scheme

Speaking to reporters, Ashoka claimed that the scheme, which was intended to empower poor women, had failed in its objective. 'The guarantee scheme is not empowering the poor; it is a tool for organised loot and legalised plunder of Karnataka,' he said.

Ashoka also took to social media, tagging Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi, urging them to examine the implementation of the scheme. 'Come down to Karnataka and look at your so-called guarantee model. The truth is officially out,' he tweeted.

Demand for independent investigation

The BJP leader called for a thorough and independent investigation into the alleged irregularities. 'We demand a probe by a neutral agency to uncover the truth behind this institutionalised corruption,' he stated.

Ashoka's accusations come amid a heated political climate in Karnataka, with both parties trading barbs over governance and welfare schemes. The Congress government has dismissed the allegations as baseless and politically motivated.
