Ranka demands Pradhan's resignation
CJP leader Ranjeet Ranka on Tuesday demanded the resignation of Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over his alleged involvement in a coal scam. Speaking to reporters in Raipur, Ranka said the party would be forced to adopt a tough stance if Pradhan does not resign immediately. He accused Pradhan of misusing his position to benefit certain companies and said the Centre must take action.
Ultimatum to Centre
Ranka gave a 24-hour ultimatum to the government, warning that if Pradhan does not step down, the CJP will launch an agitation. According to sources, the party has gathered documents linking Pradhan to the scam. 'We have proof of his involvement. If he does not resign, we will take a tough stance,' Ranka said.
Political reactions
The demand has triggered a political row. BJP leaders dismissed the allegations as baseless, while opposition parties supported the CJP's call. Congress said the matter should be investigated. The coal scam had previously implicated several politicians.
