Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday launched a scathing attack on the Congress and Samajwadi Party, accusing them of being corrupt and caring only for their respective first families. Speaking at an event, Adityanath questioned why previous governments had failed to undertake development works, asserting that they lacked both capability and intent.
Adityanath's Allegations
'What stopped the Congress and Samajwadi Party governments from doing this work? They did not have the capability. They were incapable and corrupt. They thought only about their families, not the poor,' Adityanath said. He specifically referenced the Nehru-Gandhi family in Congress and the Saifai family in the Samajwadi Party, implying that these dynasties prioritized personal interests over public welfare.
Focus on Development
The Chief Minister highlighted his government's achievements in infrastructure, welfare schemes, and law and order, contrasting them with the alleged failures of previous administrations. He emphasized that his government was committed to the upliftment of all sections of society, particularly the marginalized.
Political Reactions
Opposition parties swiftly condemned Adityanath's remarks. Congress spokesperson called the allegations baseless and a diversion from real issues. Samajwadi Party leaders accused the BJP of indulging in negative politics to hide its own shortcomings.
The comments come ahead of crucial by-elections in the state, where political rhetoric is expected to intensify.
