The opposition also targeted Urban Development Minister Ashish Sood, under whose constituency Janakpuri falls. Bharadwaj claimed that Sood visited the site on Friday but "gave his department a clean chit" instead of ordering an impartial investigation. Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee (DPCC) president Devender Yadav intensified the pressure by demanding a compensation of Rs 1 crore for Kamal's family and holding the Delhi Jal Board directly accountable.
