Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta Inaugurates Major Development Push in Mundka

In a significant move to boost rural infrastructure, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Tuesday laid the foundation stones for development works valued at Rs 264 crore in the Mundka area. Addressing a public gathering, she emphasized her government's commitment to integrating previously neglected villages into the mainstream of development.

Comprehensive Urbanization of Rural Pockets

According to an official statement from the Delhi Chief Minister's Office (CMO), the newly initiated projects in Mundka encompass 49 distinct initiatives designed to bring urban amenities to this rural pocket of the city. These efforts are part of a broader strategy to elevate living standards in Delhi's rural regions.

Chief Minister Gupta highlighted that over the past year, the Delhi government has kickstarted development works totaling Rs 1,600 crore across the capital's rural areas. This substantial investment underscores a focused approach to bridging the urban-rural divide.

Transformative Benefits for Mundka Constituency

Upon completion, these projects are expected to deliver transformative benefits to the Mundka Assembly constituency, including:

  • Enhanced connectivity through improved road networks
  • Reliable access to clean drinking water
  • Modernized sewerage systems
  • Strengthened education and healthcare facilities

"These initiatives represent crucial steps toward aligning rural Delhi with urban standards," Gupta stated, asserting that these areas are now firmly integrated into the growth and development mainstream.

Addressing Historical Neglect

The Chief Minister criticized previous Delhi governments for their neglect of villages, which led to persistent issues such as:

  1. Deteriorated and broken roads
  2. Dilapidated drainage systems
  3. Shortages of schools, hospitals, and colleges

To ensure systematic and accelerated progress, the government has allocated a dedicated budget of Rs 1,000 crore specifically for village development, facilitating planned advancements across rural Delhi.

High-Profile Attendance at the Event

The foundation-laying ceremony saw the presence of several key dignitaries, including:

  • North West Delhi MP Yogender Chandolia
  • Development Minister Kapil Mishra
  • Local MLA Gahender Drall
  • Chairman of the Delhi Gramin Vikas Board, Raj Kumar Chauhan

Their participation highlighted the collaborative effort behind this development drive, aimed at fostering inclusive growth and addressing long-standing infrastructural gaps in the capital's rural sectors.
