The Delhi Police conferred honorary ranks on 179 retiring personnel during a piping ceremony held under the Honorary Rank Promotion Scheme. The event was presided over by Rajesh Khurana, Special Commissioner of Police (P&FD), who, along with other senior officers, ceremonially awarded the next higher honorary ranks to the retiring staff, ranging from Head Constable to Sub-Inspector.
Honorary Promotions Breakdown
The promotions included 11 Head Constables elevated to the honorary rank of Assistant Sub-Inspector, 48 Assistant Sub-Inspectors promoted to Sub-Inspector, and 120 Sub-Inspectors promoted to Inspector. This initiative recognizes the dedicated service of personnel who have spent decades maintaining law and order in the national capital.

Addressing the gathering, Khurana congratulated the retiring personnel and their families, acknowledging their invaluable contributions over the years. He emphasized that police personnel often spend more time with colleagues than with their own families, highlighting the deep camaraderie within the force.
