According to local reports, the protest, which entered its second week, has seen a shift in atmosphere as participants and visitors alike adapt to the prolonged stay. Blankets and tarpaulins now dot the lawns, with people sharing meals and engaging in relaxed conversations, all while keeping the core demand for a fair NEET exam alive through placards and chants.
Live Classroom for Journalists
The spot has also become a live classroom for budding journalists. A team of journalism students from Khalsa College, Amritsar, was busy shooting videos and uploading content on their social media handles. Armed with smartphones and microphones, they interviewed protesters, documented the scene, and practiced on-the-ground reporting skills.
“We came here to cover the protest, but we also learned how to handle live situations—adapting to new developments and finding stories within a crowd,” said one student, reflecting the hands-on experience gained. Their presence added a layer of academic relevance to the gathering, blurring the lines between protest and pedagogy.
Protest Atmosphere Persists
Despite the picnic-like ambience, the underlying cause remains serious. Protesters continue to call for a review of the NEET 2025 results, alleging irregularities in the examination process. Organizers have set up a stage for daily speeches and cultural performances to maintain momentum.
Security personnel remain on site, but interactions have been largely peaceful. The transformation of Jantar Mantar into a multi-purpose space highlights the resilience and creativity of those involved in long-term protests, turning a site of dissent into a community hub.
