Ranchi: Jharkhand Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) K Ravi Kumar on Friday provided the list of unmapped voters to all recognized political parties, urging their cooperation in the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process. The information was distributed via pen drives, as stated by the CEO's office. Kumar emphasized that cooperation from all recognized political parties is expected during the SIR process.
Process for Unmapped Voters
Kumar explained that if a voter is unmapped, they will receive a notice from the Electoral Registration Officer (ERO) during the SIR process. Subsequently, they must submit documents related to self, mother, father, both parents, or grandparents, depending on their date of birth. All unmapped voters are required to undergo the ERO notice and hearing process to be included in the final voter list. Both mapped and unmapped voters will receive partially filled enumeration forms for the SIR.
Current Status and Door-to-Door Campaign
The list of unmapped voters has been published at all polling stations in the state since May 23. Voters are reviewing the list at their convenience and getting mapping done through Booth Level Officers (BLOs). Starting June 30, BLOs will go door-to-door to provide partially filled enumeration forms to both mapped and unmapped voters. Voters must fill the form, affix one updated photograph, sign it, and return it to the BLO. If both mapped and unmapped voters return the completed and signed form, their names will be included in the draft voter list.
Additional Information
Mapped voters are generally not required to submit any additional documents during the SIR process. The final publication of the voter list, after disposal of claims and objections by the EROs, is scheduled for October 7, 2026.
