Kerala Chief Minister Condemns 'The Kerala Story' Sequel as Hate Propaganda

In a strong statement from Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has declared that the second part of the film 'The Kerala Story' must be viewed with utmost seriousness. He asserted that the production is aimed at sowing hatred against Kerala and insulting the state's long-standing secular traditions.

CM Accuses Film of Spreading Blatant Lies and Communal Agenda

Pinarayi Vijayan emphasized that Kerala has already recognized the first part of the film as being filled with blatant lies, hatred, and anti-Kerala propaganda. He stated that the state rejected that distorted creation, which attempted to cloak itself in the mantle of 'art', by proclaiming the truth through 'The Real Kerala Story'. The CM pointed out that those behind these continuous hate campaigns are individuals who fear the model Kerala sets by upholding brotherhood and secularism.

He specifically named the Sangh Parivar centres as the entities that took up and propagated what he called the ridiculous and fake narrative of 'The Kerala Story'. According to Vijayan, these forces are the ones who give a communal tint to even consensual marriages, falsely labelling them as forced conversions and spreading widespread misinformation.

Warning Against Attempts to Poison Kerala's Peace

The Chief Minister warned that these forces are attempting to poison the peace of Kerala's land and are enemies of society. He expressed astonishment at how such 'poisonous creations' manage to receive permission for screening, highlighting concerns over the regulatory processes for media content.

Vijayan called for unity among the people of Kerala to reject these attempts to portray the state as a centre of terrorism. He stressed that it is the responsibility of each citizen to prove that Kerala's secular foundation will not be shattered by fake propaganda. The CM's remarks underscore the ongoing political and social tensions surrounding the portrayal of Kerala in media and the broader implications for communal harmony in the region.
