NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday asserted that the agreements reached during his recent five-nation tour will unlock "new doors of new economy" for the youth, highlighting that India's engagement in clean energy, critical minerals, and sustainable development will receive a significant boost through partnerships with these countries.
Rozgar Mela and Job Creation
Speaking after distributing over 51,000 appointment letters for government jobs via videoconferencing at the Rozgar Mela, Modi emphasized that pacts signed with the UAE and Norway will strengthen the shipbuilding ecosystem. "Demand for engineers, technicians, and skilled workers will surge beyond your imagination," he told the young audience. These remarks appeared aimed at countering the opposition's narrative of unemployment and restlessness among Gen Z, especially amid curiosity over the online buzz created by the "Cockroach Janta Party."
Unprecedented Opportunities
Modi stated that the opportunities available to today's youth in manufacturing, technology, startups, digital services, railways, defense, and space are unprecedented in the country's history. "The opportunities India's youth have today to fulfill their dreams were never there before," he said. He noted a palpable excitement among global corporate leaders about India's youth and technological advancement, asserting that the world is keen to be part of India's development journey.
International Partnerships for Youth
"India's international partnerships are purposefully structured to serve its youth. The purpose is that India's youth get employment and global exposure," Modi added. He underlined his focus on advancing India's interests in emerging fields and helping its young population, stating that every new investment, technology partnership, and industrial collaboration ultimately creates fresh opportunities for them. These sectors will shape industries and define global growth for several decades, Modi added.
Examples of Collaboration
Citing the ASM-Tata Electronics agreement as a concrete example of India's growing stature as a trusted global supply chain partner, Modi said India is among a handful of countries with which the Dutch semiconductor giant has signed an accord. Similarly, partnerships with Sweden on artificial intelligence and cooperation with the UAE on supercomputing will bolster India's technological capabilities. Modi asserted that India is advancing in innovation, building, and delivery at scale, earning global respect.
