Prayagraj: Former Union minister and senior BJP leader Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi on Tuesday labeled the Congress and Samajwadi Party as 'failed fugitives' for raising an uproar over the public mandate after their recent electoral defeats. Speaking during a visit to Prayagraj, Naqvi asserted that after decades of pursuing appeasement politics, these 'power-hungry chieftains' have been defeated by the principles of fair play and inclusivity championed by the BJP.
Naqvi's sharp critique of opposition
Naqvi stated that the country is now rejecting those who attempt communal appeasement. He urged the opposition to abandon their propaganda against democratic values and respect the popular mandate. 'They must introspect to understand why the public is repeatedly rejecting them,' he said. According to Naqvi, the Congress party's efforts to incite the public by alleging vote theft have failed, and their practice of holding democracy hostage with dynasty politics led to their defeats in Bihar, West Bengal, and Assam. He predicted a similar fate for them in the upcoming elections in Uttar Pradesh and other states.
BJP's governance praised
Naqvi claimed that the BJP and its allies have ushered in an 'Amrit Kaal' of good governance across 22 states, covering 78% of the country's population. He attributed this success to their commitment and reverence for Sanatan values. 'The opposition must realize that the era of appeasement is over, and the people are now rewarding performance and inclusivity,' he added.
Stable government amid global turmoil
Commenting on the ongoing global crisis, Naqvi said that India is blessed with a stable government under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, whom he described as a troubleshooter in times of global turmoil. He quoted an inspirational song: 'Raat bhar ka hai mehman andhera, Kis ke roke ruka hai savera' (Darkness is a guest of night; who can stop the arrival of dawn?), emphasizing that no force can halt the progress of the nation under Modi's leadership.
