Nagpur: Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Friday visited the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) headquarters in Mahal and held a closed-door meeting with its chief Mohan Bhagwat during his city tour linked to a major defence manufacturing event.
Anant Ambani's Separate Meeting
Industrialist Anant Ambani also separately met Bhagwat at the RSS headquarters later in the day and is understood to have briefed him on the Vantara wildlife and conservation project.
Defence Event and Other Engagements
Rajnath Singh was in Nagpur to attend the bhoomipuja and foundation stone laying ceremony of the 10,000-tonne extrusion press project at Ordnance Factory Ambajhari under Yantra India Ltd. After the official programme, Singh attended the thread ceremony function of Union minister Nitin Gadkari's grandson before proceeding to the RSS headquarters around 4 pm.
Closed-Door Discussions
According to RSS functionaries, Singh and Bhagwat held discussions for nearly 45 minutes behind closed doors. While no official details of the meeting were disclosed, sources indicated that issues related to national security, India's defence preparedness, ongoing strategic developments and broader political matters may have figured in the discussions.
