Ram Temple Embezzlement Row: Donors Claim Jewellery Missing, No Receipts
Ram Temple Embezzlement: Missing Jewellery, No Receipts

In a fresh controversy surrounding the Ram Temple construction in Ayodhya, donors have come forward alleging that jewellery and other valuable items donated for the temple are missing, and proper receipts have not been provided to them. The allegations have raised serious concerns about the management of donations for the grand temple project.

Donors Speak Out

One of the donors, who served as the North India head of the Indian Bullion and Jewellers Association, claimed that there was no trace of the 60 kilograms of silver donated by the association. He stated that despite repeated requests, the temple trust has not provided any satisfactory explanation or documentation regarding the whereabouts of the silver.

Missing Jewellery and Lack of Transparency

Several other donors have also reported that jewellery items they contributed are missing. They allege that the temple authorities have failed to issue receipts for the donations, making it difficult to track the items. The lack of transparency has led to growing distrust among the donor community.

Receipts Not Provided

Donors have complained that despite submitting valuable items, they were not given proper receipts or acknowledgment letters. This has made it impossible for them to verify whether their contributions have been properly recorded and utilized. Some donors have expressed concerns that the missing items may have been misappropriated.

Association's Allegations

The Indian Bullion and Jewellers Association, which had donated 60 kilograms of silver, has demanded a thorough investigation into the matter. The association's North India head emphasized that they had contributed the silver with full faith, but the lack of accountability has left them disillusioned.

Ram Temple Trust's Response

As of now, the Ram Temple trust has not issued an official statement addressing the allegations. However, sources close to the trust have indicated that they are looking into the matter and will take appropriate action if any irregularities are found.

Calls for Investigation

Several political leaders and social activists have called for a high-level investigation into the embezzlement allegations. They argue that the donations made for the Ram Temple are sacred and must be handled with utmost transparency and integrity.

The controversy comes at a time when the Ram Temple construction is in full swing, with the trust aiming to complete the project by early 2027. The allegations of missing jewellery and silver have cast a shadow over the temple's fundraising efforts.
