Supriya Sule Urges Transparent Government Inquiry into Ajit Pawar's Fatal Plane Crash

In a significant development, Baramati Member of Parliament and Nationalist Congress Party (Sharadchandra Pawar) working president Supriya Sule has formally demanded a transparent and thorough investigation by the government into the tragic plane crash that resulted in the death of former deputy chief minister Ajit Pawar. Speaking to reporters after a visit to the Pune Municipal Corporation headquarters in Shivajinagar on Wednesday, Sule emphasized the urgency of uncovering the truth behind the incident.

Call for Comprehensive Data and Non-Political Investigation

Supriya Sule stated, "Every day, new information continues to emerge regarding this devastating accident. With numerous questions being raised by the public and stakeholders, it is imperative that we obtain comprehensive data and initiate a formal, transparent inquiry conducted by the government." She further clarified that the investigation should not be politicized, highlighting that the accident transcends political boundaries. "The information pertaining to the black box will eventually become available. This tragedy is not a matter of politics; it is a human loss that demands accountability," Sule added, noting that honoring Ajit Pawar's legacy involves advancing his development agenda through concrete actions.

Rohit Pawar's Emotional and Scientific Follow-Up

Sule also addressed the role of NCP (SP) MLA Rohit Pawar, who has been actively conducting press conferences to discuss the accident. She explained that Rohit Pawar is undertaking a scientific and methodical follow-up on this matter. "He is deeply touched and emotional about the untimely demise of his uncle, Ajit Pawar. His primary objective is to uncover the truth and ensure justice is served," Sule remarked, underscoring the personal and professional commitment involved in the pursuit of clarity.

Political Developments and Civic Concerns

When questioned about the potential nomination of NCP (SP) president Sharad Pawar to the Rajya Sabha once again, Sule indicated that members of the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) alliance are scheduled to convene a meeting in the coming days to finalize a candidate. Shifting focus to local civic issues, she highlighted several longstanding projects in Vadgaon, including auditoriums and schools, which have been pending for over a decade. "These projects must be implemented on a priority basis to benefit the community," she asserted.

Additionally, Sule called for the immediate execution of construction, repair, and expansion work on Sinhagad Road and the Katraj flyover, emphasizing that such initiatives would significantly alleviate traffic congestion in Pune. She also addressed inter-departmental coordination, stating, "The irrigation department and the municipal corporation must align their efforts. As components of the same government, any differences between them are detrimental. The chief minister should intervene promptly to resolve these issues," particularly in response to concerns about inadequate water supply in the city.

Preservation of Cultural Spaces and Property Tax Concerns

Regarding cultural preservation, Sule advocated for the retention of 'Kalakar Katta,' an open space near GoodLuck Chowk in Shivajinagar designated for artists to showcase their talents. This stance comes in opposition to demands from Bharatiya Janata Party corporators for its relocation. On fiscal matters, she criticized the proposed increase in property tax for merged areas, arguing, "The civic administration has failed to provide adequate facilities in these regions, making a tax hike unjustified and unfair to residents."

Through these statements, Supriya Sule has positioned herself as a vocal advocate for transparency in the investigation of Ajit Pawar's death, while simultaneously addressing pressing civic and developmental issues affecting Pune. Her calls for government action reflect a broader commitment to accountability and public welfare in the wake of this tragedy.
