Waris Punjab De Raises Alarm Over Drug Menace and Rising Crime in Punjab
Waris Punjab De Alarmed by Drug Menace and Crime in Punjab

Akali Dal (Waris Punjab De) leaders on Friday accused successive governments of pushing Punjab into a deep crisis by failing to curb drug abuse and violent crime. The allegations were made during a gathering in Amritsar South constituency, led by Sarpanch Baljit Singh Chatiwind.

Law and Order Deterioration Alleged

Balwinder Kaur, mother of jailed Khadoor Sahib MP Amritpal Singh, claimed that law and order had significantly deteriorated. She said incidents of murder, robbery, gang warfare, and extortion were increasing, creating an atmosphere of fear among the public. Kaur added that the biggest challenge before Punjab is the rapid spread of drug addiction, trapping the younger generation and destroying countless families. She warned that unless drug trafficking and sale of narcotics are curbed firmly, Punjab’s future remains at serious risk.

Call for Social and Moral Action

Kaur urged the youth to stay away from drugs, follow the teachings of the Sikh Gurus, and unite to safeguard Punjab’s interests. She called upon people to play a greater social and moral role in addressing the crisis. The party leaders emphasized that the state is facing an alarming rise in lawlessness, and immediate action is needed to protect the youth.
