The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Wednesday dismissed allegations leveled by the Congress party regarding a land 'scam' in Ujjain involving Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, calling them baseless and an attempt to create confusion.
BJP Leader Refutes Allegations
Hemant Khandelwal, a senior BJP leader, stated that there is no truth in the Congress's claims. "I believe there is absolutely no truth in this," Khandelwal said, asserting that the allegations were made to mislead the public.
Congress's Accusations
The Congress party had earlier accused Chief Minister Mohan Yadav of being involved in a land scam in Ujjain. They alleged irregularities in land transactions and demanded a thorough investigation. However, the BJP has strongly denied these charges.
Political Reactions
The controversy has sparked a war of words between the two parties. While Congress continues to press for an inquiry, the BJP maintains that the accusations are politically motivated and lack evidence. Khandelwal emphasized that the state government operates with transparency and integrity.
This development comes amid ongoing political tensions in Madhya Pradesh, with both parties gearing up for future elections. The BJP's swift rebuttal indicates its strategy to counter opposition narratives effectively.
