Mayawati Calls Key BSP National Meeting in Delhi on Friday, Jan Kalyankari Diwas on Agenda
Mayawati holds BSP national meet in Delhi, reviews party work

Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) president Mayawati has called for a significant national-level meeting of the party in New Delhi this Friday. This gathering will see the participation of key office-bearers from all state units, including the crucial Uttar Pradesh wing.

Agenda: Organisational Review and Birthday Plans

The upcoming meeting is poised to be a multi-faceted affair. While Mayawati is expected to review the progress of organisational tasks assigned to leaders across states, a major point of discussion will be the planning for January 15. This date, which marks the BSP supremo's birthday, is traditionally observed by the party as 'Jan Kalyankari Diwas' or People's Welfare Day.

Party sources indicate that the event this year will be austere, continuing a recent trend. The highlight of the day will be the release of the 'Blue Book' by 'Behenji' (Mayawati). This book, titled 'A Travelogue of My Struggle-Ridden Life and BSP Movement', is anticipated to offer personal and political insights. On this occasion, she is also likely to outline the party's future strategy for both state and national politics.

Connecting with Cadres and Voters

A party insider explained the dual purpose of such events, stating that organisational gatherings serve as a vital medium to connect with both the party's cadres and the larger electorate. Jan Kalyankari Diwas shares this core objective. On this day, BSP workers organise public events to inform citizens about the various welfare measures implemented by previous BSP governments.

Preparations are currently in full swing to ensure the day becomes a successful missionary event for the party. Furthermore, January 15 is also a significant day for party fundraising, with contributions flowing in from party leaders, supporters, and followers across the country.

Building on the Previous Gathering

This will be the first national-level meeting convened by Mayawati since October. In the previous meeting, she had directed party leaders to focus on strengthening the party organisation in their respective states. The Friday meeting in the national capital is thus seen as a follow-up to assess the work done and chart the course for the coming months, especially with an eye on the welfare day celebrations.
