PM Modi to Launch Major HPV Vaccination Drive and Development Projects in Rajasthan
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit Ajmer, Rajasthan, on February 28 for a significant public health and development initiative. The visit will mark the launch of a statewide Human Papillomavirus (HPV) vaccination campaign aimed at protecting adolescent girls from cervical cancer, alongside the unveiling of numerous infrastructure projects.
Comprehensive HPV Vaccination Campaign
The HPV vaccination drive represents a major advancement in preventive healthcare for Rajasthan. Targeting girls aged 9 to 14 years, this initiative is designed to reduce cervical cancer cases through early immunisation. It also focuses on promoting awareness about women's health and improving access to healthcare services across the state. This campaign is seen as a critical step in strengthening public health infrastructure and safeguarding the well-being of young women.
Public Meeting and Employment Opportunities
During his visit, Prime Minister Modi will address a public meeting to engage with the community and highlight the government's efforts. In a move to boost employment, he will distribute appointment letters to 21,863 youths who have been selected for jobs in various state departments and organisations. This underscores the administration's commitment to fostering economic growth and providing livelihood opportunities.
Major Development Projects Unveiled
The Prime Minister will inaugurate and lay foundation stones for 43 major projects with a total value of Rs 16,686 crore, undertaken jointly by the Central and state governments. These projects span multiple sectors, including urban development, drinking water supply, roads, railways, irrigation, energy, and industrial infrastructure.
State Department Projects:
- 34 projects worth Rs 8,554 crore related to urban development, public health engineering, public works, energy, water resources, and industries.
- Key initiatives include drinking water projects under the Nonera and Parvan Akavad schemes.
National Highways and Energy Projects:
- 9 projects worth Rs 8,132 crore, including the four-lane greenfield expressway from Bandikui to Jaipur.
- Works under the Delhi-Vadodara Access Controlled Greenfield Expressway.
- Elevated road projects in Jaipur and Jodhpur.
- The Malbamori-Mangrol-Baran State Highway in Baran district.
- A Rs 3,616 crore power transmission system for renewable energy evacuation.
- Infrastructure works in the Jodhpur Pali Marwar Industrial Area.
These developments are expected to enhance connectivity, boost industrial growth, and improve public amenities, contributing significantly to Rajasthan's overall progress.
