Ahmedabad Spa Raid: Two Booked for Alcohol Consumption

Ahmedabad: In a late-night operation, Anandnagar police raided a spa in Prahladnagar on Friday, booking two employees for consuming alcohol without a permit under the Gujarat Prohibition Act. The action followed a tip-off received by the city police control room around 1:43 am, reporting a booze party at a spa operating from the first floor of the Safal Pegasus complex.

Raided Premises

Acting on the information, a police team rushed to the premises and conducted a surprise raid. During the inspection, officers found two men inside the spa, allegedly under the influence of alcohol. In the presence of independent witnesses, a preliminary examination was conducted, and a strong smell of alcohol was detected emanating from the duo.

Legal Action

When questioned, the two men allegedly failed to produce permits authorizing them to consume liquor in Gujarat. Police subsequently prepared a panchnama and registered offenses against them under relevant provisions of the Gujarat Prohibition Act. Investigators confirmed that no liquor bottles or other prohibited substances were recovered during personal searches.
