e-Khata Camps Process Over 6,100 Applications
Bengaluru's special e-Khata drive has successfully cleared more than 6,100 applications in just six weeks, according to officials from the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP). The initiative, aimed at simplifying property document digitization, has seen a strong public response.
High Public Turnout at Camps
Since the launch of the camps, 13,835 citizens have visited the designated centers to apply for or resolve issues related to e-Khata. Officials noted that the high turnout reflects the demand for streamlined property records.
“The response has been overwhelming, with citizens appreciating the hassle-free process,” a BBMP official stated. The camps operate across multiple wards, offering on-spot verification and approval.
Details of the Drive
The e-Khata system digitizes land records, replacing manual khata certificates. The drive targets pending applications and new requests. In six weeks, 6,100 applications were processed, reducing backlogs significantly. The camps also address discrepancies in property documents.
Impact and Future Plans
Officials plan to extend the camp-based model to cover all 198 wards. The successful clearance of over 6,100 applications sets a precedent for faster digital transformation. Citizens are encouraged to utilize the camps before the deadline.
