Hyderabad: A moving car suddenly caught fire at the Budvel PDP junction in Rajendranagar on Friday morning. Officials, however, confirmed that there were no injuries or casualties in the incident.

According to officials, the vehicle was passing through the busy junction when flames were seen emerging from the engine compartment. The driver immediately stopped the car and safely exited the vehicle upon noticing the fire. The blaze quickly spread, engulfing a major portion of the car.

“Preliminary investigations indicate that a technical fault or short circuit may have caused the fire, although the exact cause is yet to be established. The vehicle suffered extensive damage in the incident,” said an official.

Police personnel rushed to the spot after receiving an alert and initiated firefighting operations. The flames were brought under control before they could spread to nearby vehicles or property. Traffic movement at the junction was briefly affected as authorities cleared the area and carried out firefighting and recovery measures.
