Elderly Woman Dies After Stray Dog Attack in Mandya

Mandya: An elderly woman, Sakamma (75), a resident of Rangegowdanakoppalu village in KR Pet taluk, succumbed to injuries on Wednesday night at Mysore District Hospital after a stray dog brutally attacked her while she was engaged in agricultural work on her farmland.

Incident Details

The incident occurred approximately 15 days ago when a stray dog suddenly attacked her, inflicting severe injuries to her face and neck. Following the attack, family members, assisted by locals, rushed her to the taluk hospital for emergency treatment before she was transferred to Mysore District Hospital for advanced care.

Medical Treatment and Outcome

Despite continuous treatment for over two weeks, her condition deteriorated, and she passed away on Wednesday night, according to hospital sources. After a post-mortem examination at the taluk hospital, the body was handed over to the family for final rites.
