Fire Destroys Widow's Locked House, Losses in Lakhs

A devastating fire broke out in a locked house in the Arora Rasta locality of Sultanpur Lodhi, reducing household belongings worth lakhs of rupees to ashes. Fortunately, no one was inside the residence at the time, averting any loss of life. However, the family suffered a severe financial blow.

Widow's House Gutted

The house belongs to a widow whose husband passed away a few months ago. She had traveled to Jalandhar with her children for work, leaving the house locked. Neighbors noticed thick black smoke and flames emanating from the property and immediately alerted the fire brigade.

Firefighting Challenges

Fire brigade teams rushed to the scene, but the high boundary walls hindered initial access. Firefighters scaled the walls, broke open the locks, and entered the house to combat the blaze. After considerable effort, they brought the fire under control, preventing it from spreading to adjacent houses and averting a larger disaster.
