GPSC Revises Interview Format Amid Vacancies
The Gujarat Public Service Commission (GPSC) has reportedly altered its interview process due to a scarcity of members in the commission, as per a report in a local Gujarati media outlet. The report indicates that five out of the seven sanctioned member positions are currently vacant, leaving only two members active.
Consequently, candidates appearing for recruitment processes may now face a group interview instead of the previous individual interview system. This change has raised concerns among aspirants, who have questioned the decision and expressed reservations about the new format. They believe it could affect how candidates are evaluated during recruitment.
The report notes that recruitment examinations are ongoing despite the vacancies. However, the shortage of members has raised questions about the conduct of interviews and other selection stages. The state government has stated that it will not leave all vacant posts unfilled, with appointments to be made soon.
This development comes at a time when several recruitment processes are underway in Gujarat, making the commission's functioning crucial for thousands of government job aspirants.
