Haryana Police Launches RJSF Campaign to Monitor Habitual Offenders
Haryana Police RJSF Campaign Targets Organized Crime

The Sonepat police have launched a large-scale verification drive targeting offenders involved in serious crimes over the past decade as part of a state-wide initiative to strengthen surveillance and curb organized crime.

What is the RJSF Campaign?

The Haryana police have introduced a new initiative featuring a more scientific, technology-driven, and effective strategy to tackle crime and criminals. The specialized Rohtak-Jhajjar-Sonepat-Faridabad (RJSF) Unit, constituted for the state’s crime-sensitive districts of Rohtak, Jhajjar, Sonepat, and Faridabad, is creating a comprehensive database of criminals involved in heinous crimes over the past decade. The unit is also maintaining continuous surveillance through physical verification of these offenders.

The primary objective of the initiative is to eradicate organized crime, monitor criminal activities in real time, and prevent potential crimes before they occur. The database includes detailed information on each offender’s criminal history, activities, contacts, social background, and current status. Apart from monitoring active criminals, the RJSF initiative also focuses on preventing the recruitment of new members into organized criminal gangs.

Pilot Project in Rohtak

The RJSF initiative was first launched as a pilot project in Rohtak district in April following directions from DGP Ajay Singhal. Rohtak Range IGP Simardeep Singh said 2,840 offenders had been identified in Rohtak, of whom 2,179 had already been verified. Dedicated police teams have been constituted to apprehend absconders and monitor the movements of habitual offenders. Following the success of the Rohtak model, the verification campaign has now been extended to Sonepat, Jhajjar, and Faridabad.

Offender Identification and Verification

Across the four districts, the police have identified 10,892 offenders involved in crimes such as murder, robbery, dacoity, extortion, drug trafficking, and property-related offences over the past 10 years. Physical verification of these offenders has begun through special operations. In Sonepat, the police have identified 4,834 offenders, of whom 847 have been physically verified.
