The Indian Institute of Management Jammu has formalized a partnership with the Dalit Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry through a Memorandum of Understanding signed on Friday in New Delhi. The agreement was reached during a national seminar focused on the theme 'AI for Good Governance'.
Objective of the MoU
This collaboration is designed to cultivate entrepreneurial aspirations among Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes. It aims to strengthen innovation ecosystems and forge pathways for economic empowerment across the country. The initiative seeks to create a sustainable socio-economic impact by combining academic resources with grassroots entrepreneurial support.
Key Participants
The seminar was graced by Taranjit Singh Sandhu, Lieutenant Governor of Delhi, as the chief guest. Dr Vinay Sahasrabuddhe, patron of the seminar and vice chairman of Rambhau Mhalgi Prabodhini, also attended the event. The MoU was signed in the presence of Dr Milind Kamble, Chairman of the Board of Governors at IIM Jammu; Prof BS Sahay, Director of IIM Jammu; and Ravi Kumar Narra, National President of DICCI, among other dignitaries.
Scope of Collaboration
According to a spokesperson, the partnership leverages IIM Jammu's academic excellence, research capabilities, incubation ecosystem, and capacity-building expertise alongside DICCI's nationwide mission to empower SC-ST entrepreneurs. Together, the institutions will focus on developing entrepreneurial capabilities, promoting innovation-driven enterprises, facilitating policy research, and creating impactful capacity-building initiatives for aspiring entrepreneurs.
