The Pune district administration is organizing a special camp on June 22 at the Saswad sub-divisional office to address pending revenue-related and quasi-judicial issues that are delaying compensation for farmers affected by the proposed Chhatrapati Sambhaji Raje International Airport in Purandar.
One-Stop Resolution for Multiple Issues
Officials from the revenue department, land records office, sub-divisional office, tehsil office, and other relevant agencies will be present at the camp, allowing farmers to resolve multiple issues under one roof. Project-affected farmers have been advised to attend the camp with all necessary documents, including 7/12 extracts, Form 8A, Aadhaar and PAN cards, inheritance records, mutation applications, relinquishment deeds, and court-related papers.
Collector to Personally Review Cases
District collector Jitendra Dudi stated that he would personally review pending cases during the camp to expedite compensation payments. “Many of these are revenue and documentation-related matters. Once resolved, compensation can be released immediately. If disputes go to court, payments may remain pending for a long period. Farmers should make use of this special camp and present their grievances before the administration. All issues will be addressed in the camp,” Dudi said.
Land Acquisition and Compensation Status
A total of 1,285 hectares (nearly 3,000 acres) of land needs to be acquired for the airport project from seven villages in Purandar taluka, Pune district. Officials reported that approximately 75% of affected farmers have submitted affidavits required for compensation, and nearly Rs 1,000 crore has been disbursed so far.
Reasons for Pending Compensation
According to the administration, compensation in several cases is pending due to inheritance and mutation disputes, errors in land records, incorrect names, relinquishment deeds, joint ownership issues, title verification problems, objections to land valuation, issues related to records of deceased account holders, and pending court or quasi-judicial proceedings.
Special Drive to Ensure Timely Dues
Dudi emphasized that judicial and quasi-judicial proceedings often involve multiple levels of scrutiny, resulting in delays. The special drive aims to ensure that eligible farmers receive their dues without unnecessary hardship.
