Three killed in truck-auto collision on NH-163 in Jangaon

Jangaon: Three persons were killed after a speeding truck rammed into a stationary trolley auto on National Highway-163 near Nellutla village in Jangaon district in the early hours of Thursday.

The deceased were identified as Jhat Rohith (22), Donikeni Rajendar (27) and Nanubala Mahesh (22), all residents of Devaruppala in Jangaon district. Mahesh was driving the vehicle.

According to Lingala Ghanpur sub-inspector B Sravan, the trio was travelling in a trolley auto carrying grocery items from Hyderabad to Devaruppula late on Wednesday. When they reached a bridge near Nellutla at around midnight, the vehicle suffered a tyre burst.

The three got down to replace the damaged tyre on the roadside. During this time, a speeding lorry coming from behind rammed into the stationary auto, killing all three on the spot.

Police rushed to the spot and shifted the bodies to Jangaon govt hospital for postmortem. A case has been registered and investigation is underway.
