Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) president and Maharashtra's deputy chief minister, Ajit Pawar, issued a stern warning to elements attempting to sow social discord, stating such actions will not be tolerated. He emphasized that creating unrest for political mileage ultimately harms the economically disadvantaged and derails economic progress.
A Call for Harmony and Vigilance
Addressing a gathering in Amravati, Pawar urged citizens to remain alert and not fall prey to divisive political strategies. He stressed that maintaining peace and communal harmony is the fundamental bedrock for any development in the city. The deputy CM made these remarks while speaking at a 'Vishwas' rally organized by the NCP to bolster support for its candidates. The event took place at Gadge Nagar on Friday evening.
Prominent local leaders, including MLA Sulbha Khodke and MLC Sanjay Khodke, shared the stage with Pawar during this significant political assembly.
Blueprint for Amravati's Transformation
Shifting focus to his agenda, Ajit Pawar laid out a comprehensive vision for the development of Amravati. He highlighted plans for enhancing infrastructure and fostering industrial growth to propel the city forward. Pawar made a direct promise to allocate dedicated funds for Amravati's development if the NCP secures victory in the upcoming civic elections.
"My purpose here is to discuss development, not to incite emotions. I am committed to building world-class infrastructure in Amravati, and achieving this goal requires your collective support," Pawar stated, addressing the crowd directly.
Bridging the Development Gap
In a candid admission, the deputy chief minister acknowledged that Amravati remains the least-developed among all divisional headquarters in Maharashtra. He expressed his determined ambition to elevate Amravati, bringing it on par with other divisions in every aspect. This pledge forms the core of his party's local election campaign, aiming to address long-standing gaps in the city's progress.
The rally served as a dual platform for the NCP—combining a firm message against social division with concrete promises of economic and infrastructural advancement for Amravati's residents.
