Andhra Pradesh Medical Council Election Results Announced with High Voter Turnout
The results for the elections to the 13 posts of the Andhra Pradesh Medical Council (APMC) were officially declared on Tuesday, marking a significant event in the state's medical governance. The announcement was made in Tadepalli, where the electoral process culminated with the recognition of the winning candidates.
Top Vote-Getters Secure Positions
In a closely watched contest, Kola Alekhya emerged as the top vote-getter with an impressive 10,293 votes, followed closely by Bolla Mounila with 10,189 votes and Manish Mandal with 10,123 votes. These three candidates led the field, demonstrating strong support from the medical community across Andhra Pradesh.
The results were formally released by the Returning Officer and Director of Secondary Health, KVN Chakradhar Babu, in the presence of Secretary (Medical and Health) Saurabh Gaur Sourabh. On this occasion, Chakradhar Babu presented certificates to the winners, symbolizing their new roles in the council.
Robust Participation in E-Voting Process
The election witnessed substantial engagement from the medical fraternity. Out of a total of 56,156 registered doctors in the state, a notable 30,773 doctors, accounting for approximately 55 percent, cast their votes through the e-voting system. This high turnout underscores the active involvement of healthcare professionals in shaping their representative body.
A total of 84 candidates contested for the 13 elected member positions, making it a competitive race. Each voter was permitted to vote for up to 13 candidates, leading to a cumulative total of 315,745 votes polled. The candidates who secured the highest cumulative votes were declared elected, ensuring a democratic selection process.
