Bihar Government Assigns Ministers to Oversee District Development
The Bihar government made a significant announcement on Sunday. It revealed the names of ministers who will now be in charge of various districts across the state. These ministers will closely monitor and track development activities within their assigned areas.
Currently, the council of ministers in Bihar stands at twenty-five members. This number recently decreased following the resignation of Nitin Nabin. He stepped down after his elevation to the position of BJP's national working president. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar continues to lead the council of ministers.
Key District Allocations Announced
The government has assigned specific districts to senior ministers. Patna district will now fall under the supervision of Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary. Additionally, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's home district of Nalanda and East Champaran will be looked after by senior JD(U) minister Vijay Kumar Choudhary.
In another important allocation, Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha has been made in charge of Muzaffarpur and Bhojpur districts. This move aims to ensure focused attention on these regions.
Distribution of District Responsibilities
Overall, the government has distributed district responsibilities among the ministers. Eleven ministers have received two districts each. Thirteen other ministers, including Samrat Choudhary, have been assigned one district each.
Rural Works Department Minister Ashok Choudhary stands out with three districts under his charge. He will oversee Sitamarhi, Sheohar, and Jehanabad.
Senior Ministers and Their Districts
Several senior ministers have received important district assignments. Energy Minister Bijendra Prasad Yadav will now look after Vaishali and Saran districts. Rural Development Department Minister Shrawan Kumar has been allotted Samastipur and Purnia.
Health Minister Mangal Pandey takes charge of Darbhanga and West Champaran districts. Industries Minister Dilip Kumar Jaiswal will handle Bhagalpur and Gaya.
Food and Consumer Protection Minister Leshi Singh gets Madhubani and Madhepura. Social Welfare Minister Madan Sahani will oversee Supaul and Khagaria districts.
Education Minister Sunil Kumar has been put in charge of Rohtas and Lakhisarai. Minority Welfare Minister Zama Khan receives Kishanganj and Sheikhpura. Law Minister Pramod Kumar will take care of Saharsa and Siwan districts.
Ministers with Single District Responsibilities
The government also announced ministers who will handle single districts. Agriculture Minister Ram Kripal Yadav gets Kaimur. Minor Water Resources Department Minister Santosh Kumar Suman takes Aurangabad.
Labour Resources Department Minister Sanjay Singh Tiger receives Banka. Tourism Minister Arun Shankar Prasad gets Begusarai. Animal and Fishery Resource Minister Surendra Mehta takes Katihar.
Disaster Management Department Minister Shree Narayan Prasad gets Gopalganj. Backward Caste and Extremely Backward Caste Welfare Minister Rama Nishad receives Buxar. Scheduled Caste & Scheduled Tribe Welfare Minister Lakhendra Kumar Raushan takes Araria.
Additional District Assignments
Several other districts have been allocated to specific ministers. Nawada district goes to Sports Minister Shreyasi Singh. Munger falls under Cane Industry Minister Sanjay Kumar.
Jamui district has been assigned to Public Health and Engineering Department Minister. Arwal district goes to Panchayati Raj Minister Deepak Prakash.
