Hansi Land Row: BJP MLA Bhayana Dares Abhay Chautala to Prove Allegations, Vows to Quit Politics
BJP MLA Bhayana Challenges Chautala Over Hansi Land Allegations

In a dramatic escalation of a political feud, BJP MLA from Hisar, Vinod Bhayana, has thrown down a direct challenge to Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) leader Abhay Chautala. This comes days after Chautala accused Bhayana of purchasing land in Hansi and alleged that the government's decision to declare Hansi a district was meant to provide him with financial benefits.

Open Challenge and Political Stakes

Addressing a press conference at the PWD Rest House in Hansi on Sunday, Bhayana launched a fierce counterattack. He described Chautala's statements as "desperate and baseless" and demanded proof. The MLA issued an open challenge, stating, "If it is proven that I bought even an inch of land in Hansi for my personal benefit in the last 3 years, I will retire from politics the same day."

Taking a sharp dig at his accuser, Bhayana added that if Abhay Chautala was willing to part with even five percent of the property he had acquired through his political career—excluding ancestral holdings—he (Bhayana) would be ready to transfer his entire property in Chautala's name.

Addressing the CLU Controversy and Hansi's Status

Bhayana also sought to clarify his position regarding a separate controversy involving a video related to Change of Land Use (CLU). The MLA asserted that the video recording was arranged by people close to Abhay Chautala himself. He emphasized that the footage does not show him demanding money or being offered any.

On the core allegation of Hansi being declared a district for his benefit, Bhayana firmly rejected the claim. He stated that making Hansi a district was a decades-old public demand. He accused his political opponents of being unable to digest the region's development and progress.

Legacy and a Pointed Jab

In his remarks, Bhayana made a pointed reference to the Chautala family's political legacy. He noted that former deputy Prime Minister Chaudhary Devi Lal is still remembered with great respect across the country. However, he suggested that this legacy had been weakened due to the actions of his descendants, an indirect criticism aimed at Abhay Chautala and his family.

This public confrontation marks a significant intensification in the political rivalry in the Hisar region of Haryana. With Bhayana staking his political career on the challenge, the onus is now on Abhay Chautala to provide concrete evidence to back his serious allegations.
