BRS Leader Harish Rao Condemns CM Revanth Reddy's Language as Damaging to Telangana
In a sharp critique of the state's political discourse, BRS deputy floor leader and former minister T Harish Rao has accused Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy of significantly lowering the dignity of Telangana and damaging its reputation through the use of objectionable language against opposition party leaders. Rao made these remarks during a press conference at Telangana Bhavan on Thursday, where he released what he termed a 'Job Calendar-Scam Calendar' document.
Allegations of Declining Political Culture
Harish Rao asserted that the chief minister's language and behavior are being firmly rejected by civil society and are creating what he described as a permanent stain on Telangana's political culture. The BRS leader emphasized that his party could easily resort to similar language against the CM, but has consciously chosen to maintain dignity and decorum in political discourse.
"The CM's use of objectionable language against BRS leaders is merely a tactic to hide his government's incompetence and failures over the past two years," Rao stated. He further suggested that this approach represents a dangerous decline in public discourse that requires immediate attention from all sectors of society.
Governance Failures and Political Maneuvering
The former minister outlined several areas where he claims the Congress government has failed the people of Telangana:
- Farmers have been pushed into distress through skipped loan waivers
- Reduced Rythu Bandhu support for agricultural communities
- Elimination of paddy bonuses previously available to farmers
- Reduction of 24-hour power supply to limited hours in many areas
Rao alleged that Revanth Reddy has entered into a secret understanding with the BJP to protect his political position, which he claims explains why there has been no serious central investigation into corruption allegations against the Congress government in Telangana.
Personal Attacks and Political Diversion
According to the BRS leader, the chief minister's personal attacks on BRS supremo K Chandrasekhar Rao stem from an inability to digest KCR's continued popularity and growing public resentment against the Congress government. "When questioned about corruption and governance failures, the administration consistently uses abuse as a diversionary tactic," Harish Rao explained.
He warned that while such diversion might work temporarily, repeated reliance on this strategy would eventually lead to public rejection. The BRS leader called upon intellectuals, professionals, government employees, retired officers, and educated sections of society to speak out against what he characterized as the dual decline in both public discourse and governance standards.
Employment and Governance Concerns
Addressing the issue of government vacancies, Harish Rao made a pointed criticism: "There is no job calendar, but a scam calendar is clearly visible." He claimed that every month brings new controversies while public welfare initiatives are consistently sidelined.
The former minister emphasized that the current political climate requires vigilance from all citizens concerned about the state's future. He reiterated that maintaining dignity in political discourse is not just a matter of propriety but essential for preserving Telangana's hard-earned reputation and ensuring effective governance for all residents.
