Chatra District Administration Intensifies Preparations for Civic Body Polls

The district administration of Chatra has significantly ramped up its preparations to guarantee a smooth, peaceful, and fair conduct of the upcoming civic body elections. A comprehensive high-level review meeting was convened on Wednesday to assess and coordinate all election-related activities.

High-Level Review Meeting Conducted

The meeting was chaired by district election officer-cum-deputy commissioner Kirtishiree G, with the presence of general observer Sudhir Das. This gathering brought together key officials to meticulously review the preparedness across all election-related departments and ensure strict compliance with established protocols.

Comprehensive Review of Election Preparedness

During the meeting, officials conducted a thorough evaluation of various election wings, including:

  • Returning officers and assistant returning officers
  • Sector magistrates responsible for field operations
  • Nodal officers overseeing specialized cells such as personnel management, training programs, media coordination, and ballot management

All officials received clear directives to strictly adhere to the State Election Commission's guidelines at every stage of the electoral process, ensuring transparency and integrity throughout.

Specific Instructions for Election Officials

Deputy Commissioner Kirtishiree issued specific instructions to various departments:

  1. Nodal officers were directed to conduct physical inspections of all polling stations and verify the availability of basic facilities for voters and election staff.
  2. Sector magistrates were instructed to intensively survey their respective areas, identify potential law-and-order challenges, and submit immediate reports if any shortcomings were detected.
  3. The training cell received orders to conduct election-related training programs effectively and within specified timeframes to ensure all personnel are properly prepared.

Inspection of Critical Election Facilities

Following the review meeting, Kirtishiree personally inspected the critical election infrastructure set up at Chatra College, including:

  • The strong room for secure storage of election materials
  • The dispatch center for distribution of election resources
  • The counting center where votes will be tallied after polling

During this inspection, she reviewed arrangements related to security measures, entry and exit routes, CCTV surveillance systems, power supply continuity, and other essential facilities. Officials were instructed to complete all preparations well in advance in accordance with Election Commission norms and standards.

24×7 Operational Mode Activated

Officials informed the district election officer that all election-related cells have been activated in 24×7 operational mode to ensure seamless coordination and immediate response to any emerging situations.
