Dumka: The bodies of a man and a woman were discovered in the Jeetpur forest area of Jamtara district on Saturday, according to police officials. The deceased have been identified as Sagen Hembrom, a 30-year-old resident of Bodma village under Mihijam police station limits, and Malti Murmu, a 25-year-old from Maheshpur, which falls under West Bengal's Salanpur police station jurisdiction.
Police confirmed that Hembrom was married. The bodies were first noticed by local residents, who promptly alerted the authorities. Mihijam police station officer-in-charge Pradeep Rana arrived at the scene along with his team to investigate.
The police have initiated procedures to send the bodies for post-mortem examination at the Sadar hospital in Jamtara. A bottle of poison was found near the bodies, leading investigators to suspect a case of an illicit affair and subsequent suicide. "Further probe is on," said Rana.
