Dhanbad: In preparation for the upcoming Bakrid festival, the Dhanbad Police conducted a mock drill on Tuesday at the Police Centre to bolster security arrangements and ensure peaceful celebrations throughout the district. The exercise aimed to train police personnel in effective crowd management, handling emergency situations, and maintaining law and order during the festive period.
Mock Drill Highlights
The mock drill included simulations of sensitive situations that could arise during large public gatherings. Police teams practiced quick response strategies, crowd dispersal techniques, and coordinated actions to tackle any untoward incidents efficiently. Senior police officials monitored the exercise and reviewed the overall preparedness of the force.

SP (City) Ritwik Srivastava stated, “The district police are strengthening security measures ahead of Bakrid. This mock drill was aimed at enhancing the readiness of police personnel to deal with crowd control and sensitive law-and-order situations during the festival.” He further emphasized, “The primary objective of the police is to maintain peace and harmony during Bakrid. All personnel are being trained to respond promptly to any emergency situation.”
Additional Security Measures
Special surveillance will be maintained in sensitive areas of the city, and additional police deployment will be made wherever necessary. Police officials also appealed to the public to celebrate the festival peacefully and maintain communal harmony and brotherhood.
Previous Initiatives
On Monday, the Dhanbad Police conducted a march past in various parts of the city to instill a sense of security among residents. Police teams are continuously patrolling different localities and setting up checkpoints to keep strict vigil and ensure a smooth and peaceful observance of the festival.
