Five employees of the Melkote temple in Karnataka have been suspended following a suspected theft of offerings from the temple's hundi (donation box). The incident came to light after discrepancies were noticed in the collection records.
Temple authorities immediately launched an inquiry and identified the staff members allegedly involved in the theft. As a preventive measure, the five individuals were placed under suspension pending a detailed investigation.
Alternative Staff Deployed
To ensure the smooth functioning of the temple and uninterrupted religious services, alternative personnel have been deputed to fill the vacant positions. The new staff will take over the duties of the suspended employees with immediate effect.
