Haryana Chief Minister Reaffirms State's Pivotal Role in Viksit Bharat Vision

Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, speaking at a program in New Delhi on Saturday, strongly reiterated that the state will play a significant and leading role in achieving the national Viksit Bharat vision. He emphasized that the state government is continuously working towards this ambitious goal and is actively formulating new schemes to accelerate economic growth and development.

Haryana Emerges as Premier Investment Destination

The Chief Minister proudly stated that Haryana has firmly established itself as the first choice for investors across various sectors. He highlighted several key achievements and initiatives that underscore the state's robust economic environment.

Industrial and Infrastructure Advancements:

  • In the previous budget, the state government announced the establishment of 10 new Industrial Model Townships (IMTs). Work is progressing rapidly on six of these IMTs, with the remaining four slated for completion in the near future.
  • Haryana ranks first in the country for GST collection, reflecting a strong and compliant economic base.
  • The state's road infrastructure is exceptionally well-developed, enabling travel from one end of Haryana to the other in approximately three-and-a-half to four hours.
  • Haryana enjoys direct connectivity to major airports including Delhi, Chandigarh, and Hisar, enhancing logistical advantages for businesses.

CM Saini noted that these factors collectively make Haryana an attractive hub for continuous investment, which will significantly strengthen the state's role in building a developed and prosperous 'Viksit Bharat'.

From Humble Beginnings to National Prominence

Reflecting on Haryana's journey, Saini recalled that when the state was carved out of Punjab in 1966, many skeptics doubted its potential for progress. However, Haryana defied expectations and advanced rapidly, carving out a distinct and respected identity on the national stage.

Notable Achievements:

  • Approximately 10 percent of personnel in the Indian Armed Forces hail from Haryana, showcasing the state's contribution to national defense.
  • In sports, athletes from Haryana consistently make significant contributions to India's medal tally in international competitions.
  • Around 250 of the Fortune 500 companies operate within Haryana, highlighting its global business appeal.
  • The state ranks first in automobile manufacturing in India, a testament to its industrial prowess.

To further boost investment, the state government will soon introduce a new industrial policy designed to attract more investors and foster sustainable economic growth.

Strategic Development and Environmental Initiatives

CM Saini assured that industrial infrastructure in Haryana is being developed with meticulous long-term planning to ensure it remains issue-free for the next 50 years. Key developments include:

  • The fruit market at Ganaur is nearly complete and will soon be operational.
  • Plans are underway to relocate the Khari Baoli dry fruit market, marble trading market, and Amritsar's Majith Mandi to Haryana, with traders from these markets already showing keen interest in establishing operations in the state.

In addition to industrial growth, Haryana is set to establish a strong identity in natural farming. Emphasizing environmental protection, Saini appealed to farmers to refrain from burning crop residue. He reported that due to sustained efforts, incidents of stubble burning have reduced by up to 95 percent, with courts citing Haryana as an exemplary model for effective stubble management.

The event was attended by key officials including Amit Kumar Agrawal, Commissioner and Secretary of the Industries and Commerce Department; Yash Garg, Director General of the Industries and Commerce Department; Sunil Sharma, CCI of HSIIDC; and other senior officers.
