Haryana CM Orders Action Against Officer in Fake Bills Case

Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Wednesday took a firm stance against alleged corruption and administrative negligence during a Jan Samvad public interaction program in Ladwa, Kurukshetra district. The CM ordered strict action against a forest department officer accused of pressuring an employee to sign fake bills, following a complaint raised by a retired soldier, Gurmeet.

CM Directs Probe into Multiple Grievances

According to the complaint presented at the event held at the PWD Rest House in Ladwa, the officer allegedly coerced the employee into signing fraudulent bills and threatened disciplinary action when the employee refused. This incident highlighted broader concerns about accountability in government departments.

During the Jan Samvad, Saini pulled up officials and employees over alleged negligence in addressing public grievances, emphasizing that officers must promptly take cognisance of citizens' issues and ensure timely redressal. "If any official makes a citizen visit two or three times for the same issue, strict action will be taken," he warned, underscoring his commitment to efficient governance.

On-the-Spot Resolutions and Inquiries

The Chief Minister heard approximately 225 public grievances and issued on-the-spot directions to concerned officers for their resolution. Key actions included:

  • Directing the Kurukshetra Deputy Commissioner Vishram Kumar Meena to investigate allegations of corruption in a solar light installation project, based on a complaint by Subhash of Kalal Majra, and submit a report against erring officials.
  • Ordering an inquiry into the non-payment of diet allowance to players of Tatki Nursery, following a complaint by Baljinder, who stated that the nursery has been operational since June 15, 2024, but players have not received their allowance.
  • Instructing the police department to attach the property of an accused in a cheating case where charges have already been proved.
  • Directing the electricity department to investigate how a power theft case was registered when the family was not residing at the premises, as per a complaint by Rajiv, and to submit a detailed report.
  • Ordering the restoration of electricity supply to 20 households residing in a dera, following a complaint by Mahender of Kalal Majra.

Humane Approach and Welfare Measures

Demonstrating a compassionate approach, Saini assured financial assistance to a resident for his sister's marriage. He also addressed the plea of Veerpal, a specially abled person who lost both parents and sought help due to financial constraints. Similarly, on Rajni's complaint, the DC was directed to coordinate with the Lead Bank Manager to extend necessary assistance.

The CM announced that colonies fulfilling eligibility norms would soon be declared legal, after which all basic amenities would be provided. Addressing issues raised by residents of unauthorised colonies regarding drinking water and sanitation, he reiterated the government's commitment to improving civic facilities.

Infrastructure and Pension Initiatives

Saini pulled up officials over a sewer pipe leakage in Ladwa town and ordered it to be repaired by evening. He also highlighted welfare measures, noting that senior citizens in Haryana are being granted old-age pension automatically after completing 60 years of age, with verification through the Parivar Pehchan Patra, eliminating the need for any application. Complaints regarding pension stoppage are being resolved at the departmental level, he added.

Among those present at the event were former minister of state Subhash Sudha, CM Office in-charge Kailash Saini, Kurukshetra Deputy Commissioner Vishram Kumar Meena, Superintendent of Police Nitish Agarwal, SDM Anubhav Mehta, BJP district President Tajinder Singh Goldy, BJP leaders Subhash Kalsana and Jai Bhagwan Sharma DD, Municipal Chairperson Sakshi Khurana, and others.
