Hooda holds strategic meet with Cong MLAs in Chandigarh

Chandigarh: Leader of the opposition in the Haryana assembly, Bhupinder Singh Hooda, convened a strategic meeting with Congress MLAs in Chandigarh on Tuesday to discuss key public issues and chart out the party's future political strategy in the state.

Meeting After Brijendra Singh's Yatra

The meeting was organized within two days after former MP Brijendra Singh completed his 'Sadbhav Yatra' in Rohtak. Notably, the former chief minister and his loyalist MLAs had refrained from participating in the yatra.

Key Concerns Raised

During the meeting, party legislators expressed concern over rising petrol and diesel prices, inflation, unemployment, and the alleged recruitment of outsiders in Haryana government jobs. The MLAs also highlighted the deteriorating law and order situation, the ongoing sanitation workers' strike, resentment among government employees, and alleged administrative scams under the BJP government.

Farmers' Issues Discussed

Farmers' issues, including demands for minimum support price (MSP) guarantees and fertiliser shortages, were also discussed in detail. Legislators further raised concerns over worsening power and water supply conditions in several districts of the state.

Upcoming Meetings and Strategy

After reviewing feedback from party leaders, the Congress decided to convene a meeting of the Haryana Congress Legislature Party (CLP) on June 3 in Chandigarh. The party is expected to finalise its political roadmap and formulate a strategy to intensify its campaign against the BJP government, both inside the assembly and outside. Meanwhile, a high-level Haryana Congress organisational meeting has also been scheduled for May 27 under the leadership of Hooda and HPCC chief Rao Narendra Singh.
