Indore authorities have rolled out a detailed traffic management strategy to handle the massive influx of devotees expected at the revered Khajrana Ganesh Temple on New Year's Day and throughout the upcoming week. With thousands anticipated to visit for darshan, the city's traffic police have designed a special diversion plan to ensure smooth vehicular movement and prevent congestion around the temple precincts.
Detailed Route Plan for Devotees
All vehicles heading towards the Khajrana Ganesh temple will be systematically routed. The designated path begins at Khajrana square, where vehicles must take the service road. They will then turn left near Siddhivinayak Hospital, proceeding towards Ganeshpuri Main Road. The route continues via the Goyal Vihar Rain Basera junction, finally leading to the temple's main entry gate and the assigned parking areas.
After completing their darshan, devotees will exit the temple complex through the gate near Kalka Mata temple. The return journey will guide vehicles through the Ganesh Temple junction and Peepal square, eventually bringing them back to the starting point at Khajrana square.
Alternative Routes and Key Restrictions
To streamline the flow, the police have outlined alternative paths for local residents and through traffic. Residents needing to travel towards Khajrana village are advised to use Goya Road directly from Khajrana square. Conversely, vehicles aiming to reach Khajrana square can approach via Jamjam junction to connect onto the Goya Road stretch.
Several important restrictions will be in place to support the plan. Traffic movement on the service road connecting Bengali square to Siddhivinayak Hospital will be completely prohibited. Additionally, city bus services will face limitations. Bus movement will be restricted on the route from Khajrana square to Star square via Goya Road, as well as on the stretch from Peepal square heading back towards Khajrana.
