The Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) staged a protest in Panchkula, Haryana, on Wednesday, alleging irregularities in government recruitment processes. Party workers gathered at the District Secretariat, raising slogans against the state government and demanding a thorough investigation into the alleged malpractices.
Allegations of Corruption
INLD leaders claimed that several recent recruitments in various departments were marred by corruption and favoritism. They accused the ruling party of ignoring merit and transparency, leading to the appointment of unqualified candidates. The protesters submitted a memorandum to the Deputy Commissioner, listing specific cases where they claimed rules were violated.
Demands for Action
The party demanded the formation of a high-level committee to probe the irregularities and punish those responsible. They also called for the cancellation of all questionable appointments and a fresh recruitment drive conducted under strict supervision. INLD state president emphasized that the party would continue its agitation until justice is served.
Security was tightened in the area to prevent any untoward incident. Police personnel were deployed in large numbers, and barricades were set up near the Secretariat. The protest remained peaceful, with leaders addressing the crowd and urging them to remain calm.
This is not the first time the INLD has raised concerns over recruitment processes in Haryana. The party has been vocal about alleged corruption in government jobs, particularly in the education and health sectors. They have previously organized similar protests in other districts.
The state government has yet to respond to the allegations. However, officials stated that all recruitments are conducted as per rules and any irregularities would be investigated if brought to their notice.
