Karnataka Deputy CM assures no forced land acquisition

Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister G Parameshwara has assured farmers that they will not be forced to part with their lands for the Bidadi project. The project, initially speculated to be an AI hub, is primarily aimed at decongesting and reducing pressure on Bengaluru, according to the Deputy CM.

Project objective clarified

When asked about the need for AI hubs to have sufficient water resources, Parameshwara clarified that the primary objective of the Bidadi project is not AI but to decongest and reduce the pressure on Bengaluru. He emphasized that the government does not intend to forcibly acquire land from farmers.

Government's stance on land acquisition

Parameshwara stated that the government is committed to ensuring that farmers' rights are protected. He reiterated that no farmer will be compelled to give up their land against their will. The project will proceed only with the consent of the landowners.
