In a significant act of public service, BJP MLA Rajeshwar Singh brought warmth to Lucknow's Sarojininagar area on Monday, organizing a large-scale blanket distribution drive from his Aashiana residence to help the needy combat the biting cold.
Massive Relief Effort for Lucknow's Needy
Amidst the severe winter chill, the initiative saw a total of 10,000 blankets being handed over for distribution. The recipients included over 150 party office-bearers, workers from all six mandals, and various social representatives. Their task is to ensure these blankets reach the most vulnerable sections of the community in and around Sarojininagar.
This drive marks a continuation of the MLA's winter relief efforts. So far this season, Rajeshwar Singh has distributed more than 25,000 blankets across his constituency, providing crucial protection from the harsh weather conditions.
A Tribute to a Stalwart Leader
In a separate but heartfelt event on the same day, the MLA paid floral tribute to former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Kalyan Singh on his birth anniversary. The ceremony took place at Kalyan Singh Chowk in Sushant Golf City.
Remembering the late leader, Rajeshwar Singh highlighted his unwavering principles. "He always placed principles above power and nationalism above political convenience," the MLA stated. He emphasized Kalyan Singh's historic role in the Ram Temple movement, specifically noting that the former CM took moral responsibility during critical moments but did not allow firing on kar sevaks.
Remembering Kalyan Singh's Legacy
The tribute also focused on the administrative reforms spearheaded by Kalyan Singh, affectionately referred to as 'Babu Ji'. Rajeshwar Singh specifically highlighted his groundbreaking reforms in the education sector, most notably the implementation of a strict anti-copying ordinance. This move was pivotal in restoring integrity to the state's examination system.
The day's events in Lucknow showcased a blend of immediate public welfare and respectful remembrance, reflecting a commitment to both present needs and historical legacy.
