The CM stated that the government will make concerted efforts to implement all feasible suggestions that emerged from the 60th National Level DGP/IGP Conference. This high-profile conference was held in Raipur, Chhattisgarh, in November and was chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. A total of 107 recommendations were formulated at the national event, aiming to strengthen and modernize police forces across India.
Lalduhoma emphasized that while the state is dedicated to this modernization agenda, support from the Centre would be crucial for the full implementation of these ambitious plans. This underscores the collaborative federal approach needed for comprehensive police reform.
Funding Boost and Commendable Achievements
Highlighting the tangible progress in police infrastructure, the Chief Minister disclosed important financial approvals. He revealed that Rs 3.18 crore has already been received under the Police Modernisation Scheme. Furthermore, an additional Rs 21.276 crore has been approved for the state's police force.
These funds are earmarked for critical upgrades, including the procurement of essential police equipment. A key purchase will be three bulletproof vehicles, enhancing officer safety during high-risk operations. Lalduhoma specifically acknowledged the efforts of Director General of Police Sharad Agarwal in securing these vital funds.

Chief Minister Lalduhoma took the opportunity to commend the Mizoram Police for their notable achievements over the past two years. He pointed to a significant positive outcome of their sustained efforts: a marked decline in drug abuse within the state.
