Monkey snatches bag with ₹2 lakh cash at UP court

A monkey created a commotion at a court complex in Uttar Pradesh's Bulandshahr district after snatching a bag containing ₹2 lakh in cash and climbing a tree with it. The incident, which occurred during a property registration process, was captured on video and has since gone viral on social media.

How the incident unfolded

The bag was being carried by Ravindra Lodhi, also known as Raju, who had been sent to purchase stamp papers for a property registration. As he walked towards a stamp vendor, a monkey suddenly grabbed the bag and climbed a nearby neem tree. The monkey then tore open the bag and began throwing out its contents, apparently searching for food. Onlookers were left stunned as ₹500 notes started falling from the tree.

Recovery of the cash

A crowd quickly gathered at the spot and began collecting the scattered currency notes. Police also arrived at the scene and launched efforts to recover the cash. Officials later managed to recover ₹1.98 lakh from the spot and returned the money to its owner. The remaining ₹2,000 was not found.
