Naidu: Budget to Stabilize AP Finances, Boost Rayalaseema and Amaravati

CM Naidu Applauds Andhra Pradesh Budget for Financial Stabilization and Growth

In Vijayawada, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu praised the state budget, describing it as a strategic framework designed to stabilize finances and guide Andhra Pradesh out of what he termed "inherited financial damage" from the previous administration. He emphasized that despite numerous structural issues, the state is gradually getting back on track, with low revenue and high expenditure identified as legacy challenges. Naidu noted that Andhra Pradesh is managing its commitments effectively with support from the Union government.

Agricultural Sector Shows Promising Growth

Highlighting positive economic indicators, the Chief Minister pointed to increasing income from agriculture and allied sectors. He specifically mentioned the high demand for Ongole milk and Anantapur fruits, along with the robust market for Rayalaseema pomegranates. "These successes reflect our efforts to boost rural economies and enhance farmer livelihoods," Naidu stated.

Major Investments Transform Rayalaseema Region

Naidu underscored the significance of the Rs 30,000 crore outlay for Rayalaseema's development, asserting it will have a long-lasting impact. He recalled a time when fodder had to be transported by trains and people struggled to provide water for cattle. "Successive investments have been instrumental in transforming Rayalaseema. The Handri-Neeva project, initiated to ensure water security, is now yielding visible results," he explained.

Amaravati Capital Development on Fast Track

Regarding the state capital, Naidu expressed confidence that Amaravati will take shape within the next three years. He detailed infrastructure improvements, including new link roads to the national highway expected to enhance mobility and revenue. "The western bypass has already improved access, and the upcoming inner and outer ring roads will further expand connectivity," he added.

Drawing Parallels to Hyderabad's Growth

To illustrate Amaravati's potential, Naidu drew a parallel with his experience in the early 1980s when Jubilee Hills in Hyderabad resembled a forest. He recounted that NTR offered him a plot where actor and brother-in-law Balakrishna's house now stands, but the area lacked even autorickshaw access at the time. "That locality transformed within a few years, and I believe Amaravati will witness similar rapid growth and development," he concluded optimistically.
