The controversy stems from the ECI's official stance, reiterated just a day earlier on Monday, which recognizes Dr. Anbumani Ramadoss as the legitimate leader of the Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK). "The faction led by Anbumani is engaging in politics through deception," Arul told assembled journalists. "They have managed to purchase the Election Commission because they found it impossible to purchase justice from the courts." Arul further elaborated on his accusations by pointing to Anbumani Ramadoss's political affiliations.
