In a significant announcement ahead of the state-level Parkash Purb celebrations of Guru Ravidas, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann confirmed on Thursday that the entire council of ministers will join the community on February 6 at Sri Khuralgarh Sahib in Hoshiarpur district. The event is set to be marked by deep religious fervour as the state pays homage to the revered spiritual figure.

Rs 148 Crore World-Class Memorial Unveiled as Tribute

Chief Minister Mann highlighted that the Punjab government has constructed a world-class memorial at Khuralgarh at a cost of Rs 148 crore, describing it as a profound tribute to Guru Ravidas. "The memorial stands as a testament to our commitment to honoring the Guru's legacy," Mann stated, emphasizing the government's dedication to fostering an egalitarian society in line with Guru Ravidas's teachings.

The newly built memorial is equipped with a range of modern facilities designed to enhance the experience for visitors and devotees. These include:

  • A contemporary building with comprehensive tourist amenities
  • Multi-level parking to accommodate large gatherings
  • Minar-e-Begumpura, a symbolic structure reflecting the Guru's vision
  • Sangat Hall for community congregations
  • A state-of-the-art auditorium for events and ceremonies

Government's Commitment to Equality and Social Welfare

Mann reiterated that the Punjab government is duty-bound to carve out an egalitarian society, as preached by Sri Guru Ravidass Maharaj. "Guru Ravidas ji's message of universal welfare and equality for all sections of society guides our actions," he said, underscoring the administration's focus on perpetuating the Guru's enduring legacy through such initiatives.

The state-level function at Sri Khuralgarh Sahib is being organized specifically to honor this legacy, with the entire state cabinet set to join the sangat (congregation) in paying homage. Mann urged people from all walks of life to participate actively in the celebrations. "I call upon the entire sangat to partake in this state-level function with full religious fervour and enthusiasm," he added, encouraging widespread community involvement.

This event not only commemorates Guru Ravidas's contributions but also reinforces the government's ongoing efforts to promote social harmony and equality across Punjab, aligning with the spiritual leader's timeless teachings.
